Domestic Battery, Aggravated Domestic Battery & Orders of Protection
An aggravated domestic battery conviction is a Class 2 felony. A judge could sentence you to up to 7 years in prison. However, if you have been convicted of another aggravated domestic battery charge, you could spend up to 14 years in prison.
An order of protection, which is commonly referred to as a personal protection order, can prevent you from entering your own home, visiting your children or even stop you from taking other actions that the judge deems necessary.
